There is an extension of Ad Lib called the Drop-In Center, better known as "OUR PLACE". Call center for schedule. It is mostly consumer run with one staff counselor nearby for support if needed. Our Place is a safe haven where people with disabilities can come and have coffee, play cards, talk with the staff counselor, etc.. Consumers have parties, dances, classes on different crafts, and other various activities. It is a great place to socialize and to meet with friends in a supportive atmosphere.
Ad Lib has a monthly Community Access television show named "Focus on Independent Living." The show is produced by staff and volunteers. The half hour show is centered around different agencies, groups, and people with general information that will help better inform the community.
There is also our "Focus on Independent Living" newsletter which is published quarterly. It contains information about the happenings within our agency, and changes made in various programs and services that would or will affect the community.
Through a Purchase of Service Agreement with the Department of Mental Health, Ad Lib's Transportation Services Program can help provide paratransit transportation, mobility training & assistance in applying for reduced bus fare and taxi passes.
We also provide ADA regulations, building codes & info on types of funding to help people make their homes accessible.
Eligibility/Criteria/Enrollment: One needs only to have a disability.
Fees: There is a monthly fee for Representative Payee.
