Organization: Highland Valley Elder Services, Inc. (ASAP) is a private, not-for-profit organization that is funded by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. HVES is dedicated to fostering independence, long-term partnerships and to providing services and resource options that will empower elders (60+) and their families.

Services:
Staff can explain resources and provide referrals to many community-, state-, and federal-programs; and services such as Home Delivered Meals; Homemaking; personal care; laundry; and day programs. In addition, Ombuds staff and volunteers can assist nursing home residents and their families to understand their rights and can assist them to advocate for their concerns. The Adult Foster Care Program offers housing and can match host families to adults who need a supportive family environment. Individuals needing to report situations of elders at risk can call the 24 HOUR ELDER ABUSE HOT LINE - 1-800-922-2275.
Care Advisors can provide a free, one hour Elder & Family Care Advice visit to answer questions about local and statewide resources that are available to elders. Care Advisors are also responsible for coordinating and arranging home care services. Highland Valley also provides: Information and Referral; Nursing Home preadmission screening; Family Care advisement & grants, Community Dining Centers; Money Management and Personal Care Assistance.
Eligibility/Criteria/Enrollment: Aged 60 and over. Income eligibility criteria and needs assessment required for home care services. Adult Family Care accepts clients 16 or older for placement in homes. PCA program referrals for people over 50 who have a permanent- or chronic-disability
Fees: Sliding fee scale based on income. Voluntary donations are accepted toward the cost of home delivered meals.
