New England INDEX, a project of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, addresses the information needs of people with disabilities. To accomplish this, we collect and maintain information on a wide variety of programs, agencies, and individual providers in Massachusetts and New England who have something to offer to people with disabilities.

In addition, New England INDEX coordinates a 124-member, state-wide information system called the Massachusetts Network of Information Providers for People with Disabilities. The MNIP provides a connection to a local source of information and referral to people with disabilities, their friends and families, and professionals working with them. The MNIP also supports the collaboration of its members in solving information and referral problems.

Our mission is to provide information to people with disabilities and to assist other agencies who are providing information to people with disabilities. We believe accurate and up-to-date information is essential to insure all people have choices that allow them to control their own lives as much as possible.
