Narrative
The Chinese Culture Connection (CCC) is a nonprofit educational organization founded in 1985. The mission of CCC is to promote intercultural harmony, strengthen diverse communities and build bridges between American and Chinese citizens through interactive educational programs and the arts. CCC programs are held in schools, colleges, museums, community centers, libraries, and businesses, including:
- CCC's Chinese Language School offers classes from Chinese to ESL, from Chinese calligraphy and creative arts to musical instrument and Kung-Gu, from Weiqi to Lego Autorobotic for children at Beebe School Saturdays and online and for adult classes are mostly online in the weekly evenings and Sundays.
- Annual public events, such as the Chinese New Year celebration and Thanksgiving Ping-Pong Tournament (always one week before Thanksgiving), attract Chinese and non-Chinese attendees and business sponsors for incredible cross-cultural interaction and enrichment.
- "East meets West - cultural dialogue" is designed to help immigrants balance their cultural heritage and current American life, so they may maximize their potential and realize American dreams.
- There are programs about specific aspects of Chinese arts and culture in schools that support Social Studies, Language Arts, Math, and Arts curricula.
