Narrative

The Community Access Program (CAP) assists Vietnamese adults and elderly achieve social and economic self-sufficiency by providing: (1) Case management services to facilitate access to job training, employment, housing, and health care, (2) Community education, and (3) Cultural support through English as a Second Language (ESL) informal classes and U.S citizenship test preparation. Also provides culturally competent assistance to parents of persons with disabilities. These services are provided to Vietnamese immigrants and refugees ages 24 – 54 (Resident Component) and 55 and over (Senior Component). Springfield Vietnamese American Civic Association, Inc.  provides direct services, empowers Vietnamese clients to adapt to American culture.
