Narrative

May Institute’s geriatric services include a comprehensive adult day health program for adults with mental illness and minor physical disorders who live in the Greater Boston area. This program is based in West Roxbury, Mass. The program provides mental health, medical, and social services, along with support services for families and caregivers.

Geri-Day participants are valued as mature individuals who know their own needs and can make their own choices. The program encourages participation - from daily planning, to individual hobbies, to group activities. Guided by the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation which encourage flexibility and responsiveness, the Geri-Day program addresses the constantly changing needs of the people it serves.

Social, recreational, & therapeutic activities for the elderly. Individual counseling, nursing, & therapy services are provided as well as transportation. Other medical services offered are psychiatric consultation and podiatry.
