Narrative

The Kids On the Block program uses live puppet theater to foster acceptance and understanding of differences. A troupe of life-sized, disabled and non-disabled puppets teach school age children what it's like to be challenged with a disability or developmental disability. The program utilizes student volunteers to present the program to school children in grades K-6. Schools who may be interested in the program coming to their school should contact the volunteer coordinator at the Northeast Arc. The Northeast Arc also provides workshops through the Family Support Department for Northeast Arc families. Most recent workshops have been; introduction to Special Education, How to prepare for your child's TEAM meeting; The Individualized Educational Plan section by section/ options when receiving the IEP. Donations accepted, but not required.
