Project Career is a research initiative that provides services to undergraduate students with traumatic brain injuries. The program has two major parts. One part is cognitive support technology (CST) - students enrolled receive a free iPad and $25 in apps to support their cognitive functioning. Recommedations for apps and iPad use are made based on areas that students indicate needing more support (planning and organization, text to speech, speech to text, keeping track of classes/assignments, etc). The second part of the prorgram is career planning services which includes resume help, writing cover letters, job and internship searches, applying to graduate school, and setting up students with a mentor(s) in the career field of interest. Students will work one on one with the Technology and Employment Coordinator at Boston University's Sargent College for Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Meetings can be at BU campus or a location convenient for the student.

Students enrolled receive help with aspects of transitioning from college to a career (i.e. help with resumes and cover letters, finding internships/jobs, finding a mentor, mock interviews, applying to graduate school, etc.) and also receive a free iPad with apps to support cognitive functioning in class as well as in a future job.

In order to be enrolled in this program students must:
1. Have a documented TBI's and
2. Be enrolled at a college or university in the Boston area. Students can be at a 2 or 4 year college - and can be part time or full time.

Project Career is funded by a 5 year NIDDR grant (ending in 2018). We will be enrolled participants for the next 4 years. Students can refer themselves or be referred by someone else.
