Deaf-Blind
Deaf-Blind is a combined loss of hearing and vision, whether from birth (congenital) or from an onset later in life (adventitious). Illness, trauma and/or age are the leading causes of deaf-blindness. Many people who are born deaf-blind may have additional disabilities such as developmental delays or intellectual disability. However, deaf-blindness does not necessarily entail total hearing and vision loss or developmental delays.
