Narrative

Emily Berheide, OTR/L, M.Ed. is a Talent Discovery Specialist and Transition Consultant and founder of Finding Futures Consulting.  Emily is passionate about working with young people to recognize their true potential.  She is inspired by their energy and aliveness and loves being a guide for youth to discover their unique areas of talent and the world of possibilities that is wide open for their futures!  Emily believes that ALL human beings have natural talents and when they are nurtured and valued, lead to happy and successful lives.

In her role as a Transition Consultant, Emily works with a diverse population of youth in middle school, high school as well as transition programs. Her work focuses on engaging teachers in finding their students’ areas of intelligence and natural aptitudes and developing those talents.  She works with students to develop an awareness of their individual talents, interests and dreams for their futures.   She also facilitates classes on career exploration in which youth see connections between their natural talents and careers in which they could use those skills.

Emily provides professional development trainings for schools, organizations and family groups on topics such as The Power of Having a Vision, Student-Directed IEP meetings, and Discovering Students’ Talents.  Emily also facilitates person-centered planning meetings.
