Organization Narrative

Northeast Independent Living Program (NILP) is a community based, consumer controlled, cross-disability ILC  (Independent Living Center). NILP was first incorporated in 1980 to fulfill the need for a variety of Independent Living services, advocacy, and public awareness for all people who have disabilities in the northeast region of the state. Consumers who actively participate in our program aspire to higher levels of independence through consciousness raising and peer role modeling, coupled with our other services.
