Narrative

Hello! I'm Haleigh. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2020. I am the oldest of 3, and both my younger sister and brother had to have speech therapy services as children. Their speech therapist included me in the sessions, so you could say I started at a very young age. Seeing the impact she had on both my siblings communicative confidence was inspiring. As I got older, I realized I also wanted to have that lasting impact on others. I've worked in settings such as schools, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and virtual. My trainings include Targeting Language Skills Using Children’s Literature, Using Expository Texts to Target Language Skills: Upper Elementary and Middle School Clients. Teletherapy for the School-Based Therapist, Assessment of School-Age Clients through Telepractice, Autism Outreach - telestrategies for students with ASD, Everyday Cybersecurity, Creating and Adapting Therapy Materials for Telepractice. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, engaging/adaptable, and rooted in client-empowerment to create self-advocates.
