Narrative
Effective October 1, 2024 Boston Medical Center Health System today announced that Good Samaritan Medical Center is officially operating as part of its health system, stabilizing compassionate and equitable care at both hospitals.
Good Samaritan Medical Center is an award-winning, 224-bed, acute-care, community hospital, providing comprehensive care that extends beyond its four walls to address the most critical health and wellness needs of its Brockton community members and beyond.
The hospital offers Centers of Excellence in orthopedics, trauma care, and cardiology; specialized care in surgery; family-centered obstetrics with a Level II special care nursery, and advanced diagnostic imaging. Good Samaritan offers the region’s only designated Level III Trauma Center, which provides adult and pediatric emergency care to more than 65,000 patients each year.
Beyond that, Good Samaritan was founded with the mission to expand the scope of healthcare to treat the social and economic roots of health, helping historically underserved patients and community members make life-changing enhancements in overall wellbeing.
