Narrative

We have several programs for the disabled! Children aged 7-12 are welcome to the free Harbor Explorers Summer Program- marine biology camp. We offer inclusive sailing for kids with disabilities. Youth aged 10-17 are welcome to the free Summer Youth Program - one week sessions. We offer integration, adaptive instruction or adaptive equipment to allow for a unique and empowering recreational experience for youth with disabilities. We also invite nonprofit groups serving the disabled to be part of our summer group sessions. Also for kids in Spring & Fall we have an Afterschool program.

Our Adaptive Learn To Sail lessons are adapted for adults with disabilities! We have equipment for quadriplegics, hemiplegics, paraplegics, hearing and sight impaired and for some folks with TBI's. After successful completion of the 7 LTS lessons, sailors are welcome to join the center and skipper boats independently or with a volunteer companion. Disabled sailors who already have the skills to sail, are welcomed to membership also, after a skills evaluation. Costs for Adults are the same for all. A small number of scholarships are available for sailors on fixed income.

Disabled Sailors are welcome to our Thursday Evening racing, also. For folks with severe cognitive challenges, we offer the Ocean Excursion program for groups of 4 to 50 people. Pricing is on website. Participants are offered the tiller and sheets under instructor supervision. Please call us to arrange a time to participate!

Try our new all age all ability program called YES YOU CAN SAIL. Each participant pays $35.00 for an evening sunset introduction lesson. YES YOU CAN SAILS are offered every Friday evening. Contact us by email.
