Narrative

Places and supports children in permanent homes or provides 24 hour care in a foster home or other residential setting. DCF has twenty-nine area offices and six regionally based adoption recruitment units. Contracts services adoption services from 19 private adoption agencies. Fees: Case management services are free, sliding scale fee for placement, & no fee for adoption services.

Placement services are limited to children who meet the criteria of the Department's regulations and policies. The Department will provide supportive services to families on request.
