Narrative

The Adult Foster Care (AFC) Program at CENTRO provides help to adults 16 years and older. They, because of illness, weakness, disability, or advanced age, cannot live safely at home alone. This program is for those people who do not require constant 24-hour monitoring. They do need a a lot  of daily help.

As an AFC member, you will live with your trained Caregiver. They can be a family member or a nonfamily member. The Caregiver will provide help, prompting, or watching you:

• bathe
• dress
• use the toilet
• transferring (in and out of a chair)
• ambulating/walking 
• eating

The Caregiver will also provide rides to medical appointments. They can be a good pal as well.
