Narrative
An Aging Service Access Point (ASAP) and Area Agency on Aging (AAA). Somerville Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) offers resources, information, advice, and services to elders, caregivers and people with disabilities. SCES helps these people remain safe and independent. We offer help in the following areas:
- Elder Care
- Home Care
- Adult Family Care (AFC)
- Meals-on-Wheels
- Caregiver Support
- SHINE Counseling
- Protective Services
- Volunteer Programs
- Wellness
Service Area: Services are primarily offered to residents of Cambridge and Somerville Massachusetts aged 60 and older (and their caregivers). Some services are available to younger adults with disabilities and residents of the Greater Boston area.
Eligibility: The Aging Information Center is a free information and referral service open to the community. More information and advice is offered through the Elder Care Advice Program, which is also free. Eligibility requirements vary for the variety of state-subsidized in-home and supportive services offered by SCES for older people, caregivers, and adults with disabilities.
