Narrative

SSTAR is a mental health and substance abuse treatment outpatient service. It includes:

• counseling
• psychiatry
• womens center for domestic violence counseling and advocacy
• individual, group and family counseling
• trauma and recovery groups
• expressive therapy 
• anger managment groups
• first & second offender driver alcohol education programs

Languages spoken include Arabic and Portuguese. Interprters available for Spanish. It is part of a larger continuum of care. Programs includes an inpatient detox services for persons affected by HIV/AIDS, subxone and methadone programs, women'scenter, batterer's intervention program, substance disorder prevention program and a family health care center.
