Narrative

At Berkshire Health Systems, we oversee an intensive behavioral health treatment program support patients experiencing acute behavioral health crises and help them connect to ongoing treatment opportunities in the community. The care we provide at BHS is typically the first line of support during a psychiatric or medical emergency. All of our treatment programs are fully licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. Our crisis-trained clinicians in our Emergency Departments in North Adams, Pittsfield, and Great Barrington help to screen and stabilize patients 24 hours/day. We care for patients who are struggling with severe psychiatric issues, substance use disorder, or both at the same time. With the help of our Behavioral Health team, we stabilize patients and connect them to community programs and services that will help them to continue with their recovery outside of the hospital setting.
