With expertise ranging from General Psychiatry to specialization in Neuropsychiatry, Substance Abuse Treatment, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to Geriatric Mental Health, the professionals who make up the BMC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science cover a wide range of experience.

Berkshire Medical Center provides a 24-hour Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Emergency Screening Service in the BMC Emergency Department. The service has a distinct office with three private assessment rooms and a dedicated waiting room. The service is staffed day and night by fully trained crisis clinicians affiliated with the Brien Center clinical collaboration, psychiatric nurses, and other BMC clinicians.
