Narrative

DPHCertified early intervention program. Early Intervention is an integrated Developmental service available to the families of children between birth and three years of age for whom there are developmental concerns due to identified disabilities, or whose typical development is at risk due to certain birth or environmental circumstances. 

Early Intervention (EI) at Boston Children's at Martha Eliot provides family centered services to support the developmental progress of eligible children. Depending on the child's needs, the EI team may include a developmental specialist, social worker, physical therapist, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist or other specialty provider.

Eligibility:

  • Any child up to the age of three if he/she: 
  • Is diagnosed with a physical, emotional, or cognitive condition that may result in developmental delay
  • Is at risk for developmental delay due to various biological and/or environmental factors
