Narrative

Lynn Shelter Association offers a safe and welcoming environment for families experiencing homelessness. We believe in the power of self-determination. We encourage and support families in taking control of their future and pursuing their goals with confidence. Using personalized case management along with a Housing First approach, we work tirelessly to connect families with safe and stable housing options as quickly as possible. We recognize the urgency of securing permanent housing for children and parents alike.

Our community includes three family shelters: Bridge House, Green House, and Independence House, and several hotel sites. We collectively serve more than 110 homeless families each night. Our shelter are open 365 days per year, 24 house per day.We provide each family the privacy and security of their own room with a personal key, a small refrigerator, a private safe to store personal items and medications, and a food storage. All shelter sites have backyard space for playing or access to a nearby playground. They have comfortable indoor meeting/playrooms, a large communal kitchen, and congregate dining area. These shelters are al funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities.
