Narrative

BUDD Day treatment is designed to meet the mental health needs of the developmentally disabled person in our community as well as the concerns of his/her family and support system. It is a program that helps individuals who are experiencing psychiatric illness and/or behavioral disturbances. BUDD Provides a full-time day placement with a wide spectrum of clinical services and interventions designed to address an individual’s problems and return him/her back to the community as quickly as possible. BUDD uses a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment planning and employs groups, behavioral and individual therapies, and psychiatric evaluation and monitoring. Interventions are goal-specific and short-term in nature. Planning to transition individuals back into the community begins from the day of admission. Diagnostic assessments is ongoing. Additional evaluations and assessments are arranged as needed.

While services are covered by most insurance plans there are exceptions. Medicaid, MBHP, and MassHealth will reimbursed the cost of day treatment. The Department of Developmental Disabilities also provides some funding for uninsured individuals on a case-by case basis.
