Narrative

The mission of CHAI Works Day Program is to create meaningful and fulfilling opportunities for people with disabilities. They can lead productive and integrated lives in their communities. People can increase feelings of self-worth and confidence. We do this through jobs, volunteering, health & wellness, recreation, enrichment, and community experiences. We believe personal identity is enhanced through one’s achievements. We work to empower people through education and skill-building experiences.

Much of our programming takes place in the community. We maintain strong relationships with the employers our people work for and the organizations in need of our volunteer support. We weave positive socialization interactions and opportunities with peers, staff, and the community into everything we do. Our successes are focused on having all of our activities based in an inclusive setting. We work to meet each person's goals. We have enrichment programs that match our people’s choices/interests.

Participants eligible for the CHAI Works Day Program are generally funded by the Department of Developmental Services or MCD. Private pay options are available.
