Narrative

School age and teen years are crucial life stages for mental health. In fact, some mental health disorders, such as anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and depression are common during childhood. At MetroWest Medical Center, we have a child development unit (CDU), located at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, that provides specialized pediatric mental health services.

Multi-disciplinary inpatient program that provides a comprehensive evaluation of child development problems. Works specifically with children up to age 16 with behavioral, social or emotional difficulties. Work is conducted with the child's family, school, and community treatment sources. Locked unit provides treatment for children at risk for harming themselves/others. Hospital wide interpreter services.
