Narrative

The main purpose of Mainstay is to provide long-term care for people with disabilities, as well as the elderly. We help people live more stable, productive lives in their own homes and community. Staff members such as registered nurses, social workers, service coordinators and resident specialists interact with people on a regular basis. We help them by supporting their unique, everyday needs.

Mainstay staff help people maintain independent living by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL). Among the services available are:

• helping the person in complying with health care provider instructions
• getting medical care from doctors or emergency room if the person should become ill
• reminders to person regarding medication
• help with laundry
• supervision and help with activities of daily living (such as bathing, dressing and toileting)
• cleaning and general housekeeping
• help with shopping
• gives rides, or arranges for transportation

Our program provides people and their families  the assurance that they will receive the personal care and attention they need. We give guidance and support to promote well-being by supporting their physical and emotional health.
