Narrative

Day Habilitation Program

Amego’s Day Habilitation program provides a therapeutic setting offering a structured, goal-oriented curriculum designed to maintain or improve current levels of functioning. MassHealth Funds Day Habilitation programs. 

Day Habilitation services include:

  • Therapeutic assessments and consultative services
  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Positive Behavior Supports (PBS)
  • Nursing services
  • Community integration
  • Health and wellness programs
  • Therapeutic arts and music activities

·       Functional independent living skills

·       Enrichment activities

·       Community volunteer activities

·       Skill-building curriculums, including social skills, self-advocacy, healthy living, and human rights group training

·       Individualized goals supported by a program member’s Day Habilitation Service Plan (DHSP)

 

Community-Based Day Supports Program

Community-Based Day Support (CBDS) services assist individuals in building and maintaining their ability to participate in community activities by focusing on skill areas that include communication, self-care, relationship-building and community involvement. The CBDS program allows individuals to explore employment and engage in meaningful enrichment and community-based activities. Our trained staff encourages individuals to pursue their interests, discover new opportunities, and participate actively in the communities where they work and live. The CDBS program is supported by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and promotes the Massachusetts "Employment First" initiative.

CBDS programs and training include:

  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Positive Behavior Supports (PBS)
  • Culinary arts lunch program
  • Therapeutic arts and music activities
  • Functional independent living skills
  • Skill building curriculum including vocational skills curriculum, social skills, self-advocacy, healthy living and human rights group trainings

·       Health and wellness fitness activities including music and movement, Yoga, and YMCA team membership

·       Community volunteer work

·       Seasonal community activities

·       Enrichment activities

·       Individualized goal setting supported by a program member’s Day Individualized Service Plan (ISP)

Adult Residential Services

Amego’s adult residential services provide community-based residential living supporting people living with autism and other developmental disabilities. Each home, located throughout The Commonwealth, creates an environment that promotes independence while providing for the needs of individuals in their homes and community. Individuals continue to develop and strengthen their social and functional living skills while participating in the day-to-day upkeep of their homes and as active members of their local communities.

Features of residential services include:

  • Dedicated manager in each home
  • Onsite staff supervision
  • Ongoing and meaningful collaboration with all service providers
  • Caring, compassionate, and trained front-line workforce
  • Access to on-call clinicians and administrators
  • Daily access to community activities
  • Clinical programs developed by Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)
  • Ongoing staff-training
  • Coordination of medical care
