Employment Supports in Greenfield supports the self-determination of individuals with disabilities and/or other challenges to actively live, learn, work, and thrive in the community.

Individual Supported Employment Services supports a person in working successfully at a job of his/her own within the community.  A Department of Developmental Services (DDS) referral is required. The service is for participants who are able to work in the community independently after initial job training from staff and the employer.  Participants go through a vocational assessment to determine a best possible employment opportunity. With this information, staff and the participant develop an individual job placement that matches the participant’s interests and skills. Next, individualized job training is offered to the participant to learn the job. After Assessment, Placement and Training have taken place, Follow Along is provided to help the participant maintain the job.

Group Employment Services requires a referral through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). This program provides work to 3-8 participants at a community-based worksite or establishes a mobile work crew with the assistance of a staff Job Coach.  The program allows the participant to work in an integrated work environment: the focus is on developing/strengthening social skills required for successful employment.  The program is designed to help the participant maintain long-term working experiences with some intermittent social support, direction or re-enforcement.  This program often serves as a stepping stone to Individual Supported Employment for participants.

Community-Based Day Supports Program (CBDS) As with all DDS-funded programs, a referral is required.  This program provides participants with support and opportunities to develop social skills and competencies; participants enjoy a full range of community activities, such as recreational groups, volunteering and community trips –all while developing a network of caring relationships. The primary goal of CBDS is to provide a clearly defined path to employment through a variety of work-related activities and experiences. These include exposure to the world of work through participation in business tours of local area companies, job tryouts, work group discussions, and pre-employment skills training, such as filling out applications, mock interviews, and other community engagement activities.
