Narrative

The mission of the GLCAC, Inc. is to encourage and promote the improvement of community life for low-income residents within its service area. ...to help those in need as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency for themselves and for their families.

They offer education and training services including a Head Start program, energy services, health and nutrition, housing services, and social services.  Housing services is a program that includes Project SENIOR. The project targets low-income senior citizens who do not have the financial or physical ability to make the necessary repairs and/or perform routine maintenance to their homes. Since its inception in 2005, Project SENIOR has evolved into a year long program that provides services ranging from changing locks and lightbulbs to the construction of stairs and handicap ramps.
