Narrative
I started my career in social work where I worked with kids and adults with varying degress of physical, cognitive and behavioral disabilities. During my work (10yrs)I had implemented fitness routines into their daily routines and saw an improvement in both their focus, productivity and overall health. When I left social work I wanted to open a facility for the general population as well as kids and adults with special needs. I have now done that with my facility Compelling Fitness. I developed the facility to be non-intimidating, encourage movement and to have fun. My vision for children and adults with special needs is: To provide group and/or individual physical fitness training for children and adults with special needs. My overall philosophy is: We believe the foundation to a healthy mind and body is hard work, determination, commitment and a childlike enthusiasm to have fun. Let your guard down and try something new or re-live an experience from the past. We have created an environment that allows you to tell us what you want. We will bring personal back into personal training! Currently I work with groups of disabled adults, 1:1 work with autistic children, childhood obesity programs and offsite programming for group homes. I look forward to continually providing a service to individuals with special needs as the opportunities are so limited.
