Narrative

Family ACCESS Counseling and Consultation Services provides comprehensive clinical services and social-emotional supports to parents and their  young children  in Newton and Waltham during pregnancy and the early years of child rearing (0-5 years).  For over 30 years, our staff of Master's level mental health clincians have partnered with parents and their community to create individual services with an understanding of both the family strengths and unique challenges. Our success lies in the positive and supportive relationships with families and our focus on how they best facilitate their young child’s development in all areas. Our creative service model is based upon respectful and trusting long-term relationships with families and provides sustainable interventions that impact the quality of a family’s life.

We offer services to parents, infants and young children in homes as well as at our offices in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Pregnant teens and young parents receive specialized supports of our Young Parent Support Program to strengthen their ability to nurture their new family and achieve their own goals for education, job training and engagement in healthy relationships. We also provide early childhood mental health consultation in classrooms.

Our key values include: the importance of healthy relationships; a commitment to cultural sensitivity; and a commitment to build supportive networks for children and families.
