Narrative

Daybreak Day Camp, founded in 1990, is a five week summer program for children whose considerable emotional and behavioral problems prevent their enrollment in typical camp programs. Daybreak provides engaging, varied, and rich activities in an informed, supportive, and accepting environment. Campers develop self-esteem by practicing social skills and coping methods that increase their confidence in engaging with peers and trying new things. Traditional activities offered are swim lessons, arts and crafts, sports, hiking, canoeing, and field trips are provided to 32 campers, ages 5 to 11.  Daily camp transportation and meals are included.
