Narrative

Open only to students at the college.

Greenfield Community College encourages students with disabilities to participate fully in campus activities. The Office of Disability Services works with students, faculty, and staff to promote universal design. We want to remove barriers to access on campus. Disability Services works with the Greenfield Community College counseling staff to provide ongoing support for students with a variety of disabilities, including:

• cerebral palsy (CP)
• learning disabilities (LD)
• mental illness
• low vision/blindness
• deafness 
• traumatic brain injury
• developmental and intellectual disabilities (IDD)

Disability Services also serves as a resource center for medical and legal advocacy, information, and referrals. Disability Services is also responsible for verifying student eligibility for accommodations. We coordinate accommodations across campus. We offer consultation and training about disabilities for faculty and staff.

Through the center's activities a student learns the skills that can ensure college, career, and personal success. Includes counseling in:

• career decision-making
• study skills
• assertiveness
• stress management
• job search skills
