Narrative

For four decades, Riverside has worked with hundreds of area employers, including Amherst College, Big E's Supermarket, Big Y, Chartpak, Dr. Hauschka, Hasbro, Packaging Corporation of America, Pioneer Packaging, Berry Tubed Products, UMass, and Yankee Candle.

Riverside Employment works in partnership with the Department of Developmental Services, area schools, local Chambers of Commerce, Career Centers, and many other community resources to provide comprehensive, varied, and flexible support. We have long-standing relationships that ensure each participant receives a broad scope of support services necessary for successful employment.

The following employment options match the needs of Riverside participants with the needs of the job:

Individual Placement

• Individual placements match participants with local businesses, schools, or organizations. These placements allow participants to work on their own with minimal support from the employer and infrequent behind-the-scenes support from Riverside. Individual placements include; Amherst College and UMASS Dining Services, Big E Supermarket, Stop 'n' Shop Supermarket, Big Y Supermarket, Serio's Market, Packaging Corp of America, Harley Davidson- Southampton.

Mobile Work Crews

• Mobile work crews are small groups of participants hired to fulfill jobs from local employers. A full-time Employment Specialist provides continuous on the job support and supervision in order to ensure success for each participant, while meeting the employer's job requirements. These dependable work crews are a reliable and cost-saving option for local businesses. Riverside Gardens employment is another creative option at the Liberty Street greenhouse and farms in Southampton and Easthampton.

One Cottage Street

• One Cottage Street in Easthampton is a unique, facility-based employment option for participants to work on local and national contracts.
