Narrative

Lifeworks (formerly The Arc of South Norfolk) Autism Support Center is a community-based program whose mission is to provide advocacy, supports and services to people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Founded by families in our community, our services are responsive to the input, direction and needs of families.

We have Autism Support Centers for Children & Adults.  Childrens services are focused on the Newton/S.Norfolk area, while our Adult Support Center serves individuals who have ASD (no-ID) throughout the DDS Metro Region.

We work collaboratively with all stakeholders to provide support to hundreds of families throughout our coverage areas.

Our Children's Autism Support Center works in conjunction with the Family Support Program at Lifeworks. In 1995, more than 70 local families called upon Lifeworks to develop the center.

We have a Steering Committee made up of family members of children and adults with ASD.
