Narrative

Riverside’s Family Leadership programs provide support, training and advocacy for families in which a member of the family has a disability.  Part of what Family Leadership provides includes a training series that helps families to advocate for these family members. We help them to develop a plan for the future.  We have two Family Leadership programs – one in the Northeast area of MA and the other in the Metro Boston area. Both provide the chance to learn more about the family support movement. How to effectively create change and influence policy making at the local, state, and federal levels.  Support is also provided around a wide range of topics like:

• inclusion in schools
• supported employment
• positive practices
• community living
• family support
