Narrative
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry at Haven from Hunger provided over 550 individual families per month from Peabody, Salem, and Lynnfield with fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, and non-perishable goods last year. We sourced over 1.4 million pounds from the Greater Boston Food Bank and rescued from local grocery stores and restaurants for disbursement in the pantry and for the Community Meals.
The Pantry operates Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in our newly renovated lower level of the building, accessible by the ramp on the side of the building, 10:30 AM-2:30 PM. First-time clients are required to fill out an application form for their household and bring a photo ID along with a recent piece of mail (dated within the last 30 days) to confirm residency in Peabody, Salem, or Lynnfield.
Community-Meal
Our Community Meal offers guests a filling, nutritious supper in a friendly atmosphere. Last year, we served over 16,000 meals.
There is no cost for dinner and is open for any persons who are able to join us Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4 PM-5:30 PM.
