Narrative

Due to funding constraints, a wait list for services may be implemented, and we may periodicallly stop taking applications. 

Client must have disability that requires the need for homemaker assistance to maintain independent living. Homemaker tasks include: meal preparation, food planning, grocery shopping, medication pick-up,  laundry and light housekeeping. Financial needs statement taken to assess eligibility. Must live alone or with minor children (under 18)or others with disabilities unable to help. Blind/legally blind applicants must apply to MCB (MA Comm for the Blind). All Disabilities except legally blind. Individuals eligible for homemaker services through Medicaid Waivers or other funding sources, and individuals on the MassHealth PCA Program, would not be eligible as these are considered comparable benefits.

Services are provided in the individual's home.

Case Managers offer information and referral to address other needs. In home services provided through contracted home care agencies or individually hired, consumer-directed home care assistants.
