Narrative

This statewide loan program is funded by the Mass Rehab Commission. It is designed to assist homeowners with the cost of access modifications for a household member with a disability.

The program offers loans from $1,000 to $50,000 to people and families for modifications related to a disability. Typical modifications include installation of ramps and lifts, widening of doorways, and changes to kitchens and bathrooms. The loan terms are zero- or low-interest, depending on an applicant’s income.

The 0% loan does not have to be repaid until the home is sold or transferred.
