Narrative

MCB works with people to show them ways to navigate their environments. They learn how to use technology. They can improve their independence. People receive services:

• in their own homes
• while living with others
• in senior residences
• assisted living
• in a nursing home

A social worker helps to pick the best services for each person's needs. Social worker sets-up, coordinates, and follows through with an individual service plan (ISP).

Services may include:

• Low-vision evals
• Low-vision tools to maximize the consumer’s residual vision
• Orientation and Mobility instruction
• Rehabilitation Teaching to help the consumer learn new ways of doing activities of daily living
• Assistive Devices
• Peer support groups for people who are legally blind
