Narrative

LEAD is a groundbreaking initiative that prepares and empowers young adults who want to learn what it takes to become a leader and better the world around them. Supported by LEAD staff and mentors, young adults (ages 17-25) gain the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to become leaders in their communities.

Following a competitive selection process, LEADers meet weekly from October through June with a broad range of mentors from the community. Their months of work culminate with a community service project which the leaders and their mentors coordinate and implement. Thrive's LEAD initiative is an extension of our commitment to focus on abilities and provide opportunities to shine.
