Narrative

The Hampden Council on Aging/Senior Center is a Gateway and "Focal Point" for comprehensive service and resource provision on behalf of older people. COA's are established to coordinate and carry our services addressing all areas of aging. We provide: Information & Referral, Outreach, SHINE Insurance Counseling, Advocacy, Nutrition, Volunteer Opportunities, Fuel Assistance Application Help and Transportation Referrals. We also offer a wide range of programs and services Monday - Friday 9:00 - 3:00, here at the center. Programs range from health and wellness, arts & crafts, recreation and education.

 Services are paid for through donations and some fees for certain classes. Staff includes a director, outreach worker, activities coordinator, mealsite manager, and clerical staff. Materials available in English. Is an information and referral agency, focusing on education, health, legal, and financial information. Transportation available by calling the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority. A Loan closet with adaptive equipment is available. Please call to see what equipment is available.
