Narrative
Transportation is available for Marion residents in need of rides for grocery shopping, personal errands, visiting the Community Center, and medical appointments. Please call the COA office, 508-748-3570 as soon as you know you will need a ride as slots fill quickly. When reserving transportation please have the exact date, time, and address of your appointment. The Council on Aging provides curb-to-curb transportation, all vehicles are wheelchair accessible.
The Marion COA Outreach Worker provides varied services including making appropriate referrals, and follow-up as needed.
The Outreach Worker is also a liaison to local and community elder service providers for elders and their families, helping other town residents at risk. Call at Phone Number: 508-748-3570 for an appointment.
The SHINE Program (Serving the Health Information Needs of Everyone) provides free health insurance information, counseling, and assistance to all Massachusetts residents with Medicare or MassHealth. People who have Medicare or who are about to become eligible for Medicare can talk with a counselor to learn about the benefits and options available. Contact the Council on Aging to arrange an appointment.
