Narrative

When a child or young person with autism is experiencing a behavioral crisis, our first priorities are his or her safety and well-being. Through Advocates Mobile Crisis Intervention services, specialized for individuals 21 and under with autism, our team of clinicians and family partners provides immediate response and support wherever the child is located, whether it’s at home, school, or another setting in the community.

Mobile Crisis Intervention is available when someone poses a safety risk, either to themselves or others, due to suicidal or homicidal behaviors, self-injury, an inability to sustain healthy relationships, or other difficult behaviors.

Through Advocates Mobile Crisis Intervention services for individuals 21 and under with autism, our team of clinicians and trained family partners provide immediate response and support wherever the child is located, whether it’s at home, school, or another setting in the community.

The response team works with the entire family for up to one week to transition out of crisis, coordinate additional resources and supports, and follow up through phone calls and visits. This unique pairing of a behavioral health professional and family partner provides as much immediate physical, emotional, and communal support as possible in a challenging and stressful time.
