Narrative
Our Fitchburg Employment Plus Program has undergone some major changes this year. In the past, our Fitchburg site primarily worked with young people who had dropped out of high school and were seeking assistance in obtaining their GEDs. While we were very good as a GED prep program, we knew we could be better. This year we are focused on success beyond obtainment of high school credentials and our staff and students have really risen to the challenge!
We work with a wide range of participants and evaluate each candidate's eligibility individually. The following groups of people will usually qualify for one of our training programs:
- pregnant/parenting
- homeless
- disabled
- high school dropout
- habitually truant
- low income
- one or more grade level behind peers
