Narrative

Open Door Arts (formerly VSA Massachusetts), an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation, increases access, participation, and representation of people with disabilities (Pwd) in the arts.

Our School Program partners teaching artists and classroom teachers to develop career-connected arts learning experiences. People that support students with disabilities can learn artistic skills while promoting identity exploration and transition-readiness.

The Open Door Gally is inside the Worcester Art Museum. We showcase the work of emerging and established artists with disabilities. People can advance career opportunities, increase visibility and representation, and serve as platforms for the community to have important conversations about disability, identity, and culture.

Through our Cultural Access work we conduct research, create tools, and provide training to help staff from cultural organizations. They learn to develop policies, practices, and programming that encourage meaningful inclusion and participation by people with disabilities (PwD).
