Narrative

The Discovery Program is made up of five to seven classrooms We support students with significant global delays and often complex health challenges. Goals for students in Discovery classrooms are to gain and strengthen developmental, motor, language, and self-efficacy skills. We increase access to academics and life skills.

Most students in the Discovery program receive direct, one to one services by Speech and Language, Occupational, and Physical Therapists,. Also, health services and monitoring by Nurses. Teachers, Therapists, Nurses, and Paraprofessionals work side-by-side to fit together:

mobility (standing and walking)

positioning (sitting)

communication (talking and listening)

focusing

grasping (reaching and holding things)

into all areas of students’ activities.
