Narrative

Personal Care Attendant Program is a MassHealth-funded program that is available to anyone with MassHealth or CommonHealth, a permanent disability who lives in a home environment and needs hands on personal care for at least two activities of daily living. If necessary, time for instrumental tasks such as laundry, shopping, and housekeeping can be incorporated along with personal care. CLW assists consumers set up this program so that they can hire personal care attendants to assist in their care. PCM Department handles application program and ongoing support for the central Massachusetts Mass Health program. Every year CLW serves over 1,000 people in Central Massachusetts who have Medicaid insuarance and need the help of a Personal Care Attendant (PCA). As an Independent Living Center, we are committed to assuring that those we serve have complete control in managing their own personal care.
