Narrative

The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Program is a MassHealth program that assists people with long-term disabilities live at home independently.

Eligibility requirements

To be approved for a personal care attendant, a person must:

• Be Medicaid-eligible
• Require physical assistance (due to a disability) in order to complete some aspects of personal care
• Receive prior approval for PCA services from the Division of Medical Assistance
