Narrative

All support services for residents are individually designed to meet unique needs, while promoting and respecting personal choices and preferences. Staffing schedules are flexed to enable individuals to attend favorite community based recreational opportunities, such as bowling leagues and dances, while in-home holiday and birthday parties, including individuals’ personal invitees and families, foster an ethos of “celebrating the individual”. Program staff are trained and educated in techniques to expedite learning of various independent living skills identified and prioritized by the individuals and their Individual Support Planning teams. Medical and health-related needs are addressed individually with careful planning, record keeping, and close collaboration with medical professionals and outside healthcare agencies and services. Health and wellness activities, such as physical exercise and dietary education, are readily encouraged in accordance with individual needs, capabilities, and preferences.

Located in a highly desirable neighborhood in the west side of Worcester, Our fully handicapped accessible residence is home to 4 individuals. Each of the residents have a private bedroom decorated and personalized according individual tastes. Well trained staff are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to assist individuals with activities of daily living such as cooking, laundry, and cleaning. Individuals can choose to attend in-service trainings covering a variety of topics such as nutrition, exercise, music and movies. Our staff also assist individuals with medical appointments, and all are certified to administer medications. Individuals are encouraged to take part in recreational and community activities of their choice. Choice is not merely our namesake, it is a key component that is instilled in each individual. Our mission is to support each individual's voice and choice, in all aspects of their life. We want each individual to live the life they desire to the best of their abilities.
