Narrative

SPaN's membership is open to anyone interested in the field of Special Education Advocacy including parents, guardians, students, professionals, and others. The purpose of SPaN is to: 

1. train and support child advocates in providing care for youth with special needs,
2. assist child advocates for children with disabilities to gain information about and access to available services,
3. provide child advocates with continuing education programs, provide a forum for advocates to share and disseminate information,
4. provide advocacy services on behalf of children with disabilities as well as their care providers, and
5. conduct such other charitable or educational activities and programs in furtherance of the foregoing purposes to be carried out by the corporation organized under Chapter 180 of the MGL and described within Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.
